Vandaag bleek in een tweede filmpje dat de mysterieuze figuur met capuchon een verdwaalde Arjen Lubach is. In de afgelopen maanden produceerden Arjen Lubach en het Zondag met Lubach team de trailer voor de fictieve serie Westeros die zich afspeelt in de moderne tijd, en plaatsten deze vorige week op een anoniem YouTube-account. Binnen een week werd de trailer miljoenen keren bekeken op YouTube en Facebook en verschenen er ronkende artikelen op websites waaronder VICE, Digg, HUMO en The Telegraph. Op internetfora werd de afgelopen dagen druk gediscussieerd over de video en het achterliggende idee. In een tweede video die vandaag verscheen, onthult een mysterieus figuur met capuchon zich als Arjen Lubach, onderwijl verzuchtend dat hij vermoedelijk ‘terecht is gekomen in een verkeerde televisieserie’ en dat Zondag met Lubach 10 september terug is bij de VPRO op NPO 3. Het is de derde keer dat het programma het nieuwe seizoen aftrapt met een ludiek filmpje. ------ Dutch ‘Netherlands Second’ comedian (anonymously) creates Game of Thrones viral. The trailer for ‘Westeros’, a Game of Thrones spin-off series set in modern times, turns out to be a creation by the Dutch late night tv-show Zondag met Lubach from the public broadcasting company VPRO. Earlier this year, the show, hosted by comedian Arjen Lubach, was responsible for the viral video that introduced the Netherlands to US president Donald Trump, claiming: ‘if America is first, can we at least be second?’ The viral video was widely copied by other countries all over the world. This weeks trailer for ‘Westeros’ was seen by millions of people on Youtube and Facebook and made it to several articles on websites like Vice, Digg and the UK Telegraph. In a second video, that was released today, the comedian reveals himself, stating: ‘I think I ended up in the wrong tv-series’, leaving the other ‘Westeros’ character confused.
