  • description: Directed and edited by Marcus Howard. The eviction of Ireland's history has begun. The street where the birth of the state took place is about to be built on for a shopping centre. Todays battle seems to be more against banksters and property developers who want to evict Irish history. Is this the death or the debt of Irish history? This documentary features original interviews and speeches with relatives of the 1916 rising, including those of James Connolly and Thomas MacDonagh. There is also a recreation of the James Larkin speech on the 100th anniversary of The Great Lockout, the crowd singing an emotionally charged Irish national anthem and ends with a montage of the 1916 leaders and a selection of quotes they were famous for. You don't have to be a member of any political organisation to care about this, you just have to be someone who wishes to protect history. We are 3 years away from 100th year anniversary of the 1916 rising. Do you really want to give it away? If you feel strongly about this please Facebook Save Moore Street to stay in touch about future events or commemorations and ask about the email campaign they have. My thanks and respect to all the relatives of 1916 alive today. Sincerely Marcus Howard, independent documentary maker.
