- description: To see how good the CRT's glass envelope is, an external heating coil from Nichrome wire was placed on the CRT's neck. On AC the transformers out put voltage was a bit to low, so I used raw dc power from a 36 Volts source. Eventually the glass fused at about the same time my coil burnt out. The CRT took 3½ minutes to balance out to atmospheric pressure. I created this video with the YouTube Video Editor (http://www.youtube.com/editor)
