Launched early February of 2012, delivered late April, the brand new Oceanco's 88.5m motor yacht Nirvana arrived in Antibes on May 2. Now delivered, she's the 39th largest yacht in the world. To recap, Nirvana has naval architecture by Azure Naval Architects and Oceanco's in-house team, while her exterior lines come from the boards of Australian designer Sam Sorgiovanni. Sam Sorgiovanni is also responsible for the contemporary interior, which will accommodate 12 guests. Nirvana is powered by twin 3,600kW MTU 20V 4000M73L engines giving a top speed of 20 knots. During her maiden voyage from Netherlands to France, she recorded an average speed of 18 knots. Despite the inclement weather, Nirvana was welcomed by many people on the 'billionaires pier' of the Yacht Club of Antibes. She was moored not far from another yacht with which she has some features in common - the Oceanco Anastasia... NIRVANA is the largest of the new Oceanco series yet launched and is the latest in a line of yachts that includes the legendary Alfa Nero. Built to stratospheric standard and designed by Sam Sorgiovanni to the owner's exacting requirements, NIRVANA is without question, one of a handful of elite world cruising yachts. Without question the most impressive yacht on the market today, every inch of NIRVANA has been painstakingly designed and built. Arriving from the swim platform or the passerele, guests arrive onto the vast aft deck complete with 7.5m counterflow pool and a large sunbed aft. The floor of the pool rises to create a huge deck for entertaining while forward in the main salon is a bar and exotic reptile house separating it from the dining area. All guests cabins are situated on the main deck, with floor to ceiling windows and as well as the full beam VIP stateroom. The silver engraved elevator services all decks and leads guests up to the Owner's deck which can be made totally private. The owner's stateroom dominates over half of the upper deck, with a private sunbathing area with Jacuzzi forward, salon with terraces over the sea and a covered dining area aft. Exterior stairs on the aft deck lead to the bridge deck and the enormous and superbly equipped gymnasium and spa. The secluded sundeck has a 3m plunge pool and sunbathing area forward, whilst aft on the fully certified helideck is an additional sunbathing and entertaining area. Taking the lift four decks down to the lower deck brings guests to the 3D cinema and twin tender garages with 2 x 11 metre tenders, skiboat and 10 jet ski/waverunners. With enormous fuel, water and food reserves, giving her a Trans Pacific range, NIRVANA has the power to cruise the globe in serene self-sufficiency. The 88.5 metre Project Y707 - the second largest superyacht ever built by Oceanco - left her shed early last Friday morning, in the last stage of a build which was commenced in 2008. Y707 has naval architecture by Azure Naval Architects and Oceanco's in-house team, while her beautiful exterior lines come from the boards of Australian designer Sam Sorgiovanni. Lloyd's registered and MCA compliant, this six-deck superyacht, built in steel and aluminium, is ingeniously designed with interconnected interior and exterior areas thanks to large sliding doors that allow guests to be both inside and outside simultaneously. Sam Sorgiovanni is also responsible for the contemporary interior, which will accommodate 12 guests. The master suite, complete with office, private deck and spa pool, will enjoy panoramic views from the foredeck. Five further VIP cabins will accommodate the other guests, including a larger one with a lounge and his-and-hers bathrooms. Y707 is powered by twin 3,600kW MTU 20V 4000M73L engines giving a top speed of 20 knots. Special features include a 7.5m swimming pool with height adjustable floor on the main aft deck, an helipad on the sundeck, as well as a dedicated indoor 3D cinema. With the same designer and similar colour scheme, the Y707 is reminiscent of the beautiful Oceanco Y703 launched in 2008.
