- description: Les Hepworth started Heat One of the North Island Stockcar Championship off the front row of the grid after qualifying through the repecharge the first night. Less then 1/2 a lap in to the first lap Hepworth's night turned bad being pushed into the concrete wall along the back straight. Another car half spun directly in front of Hepworth causing his 22M Aquatight Stockcar to be driven skyward violently rolling his Stockcar end for end. Hepworth came to a sudden stop as the Red lights (Race Stopped) with Including himself 3 cars being rolled. Hepworth was able to drive his damaged stockcar on to the infield and climb out unassisted and unhurt. Here is Hepworth's In-Car camera showing you how lucky he was.
