- description: Shadows commonly referred as "area" are a close representation of how it happens in the real world: light can never occupy a single infinitely small point in space (e.g. light bulbs have a -/+ 4cm diameter). By raising the radius value of a deferred light above the default value of 0, DoF samples will adequately create a correct penumbra. 128 samples were used here. Filter size blurs the shadows as a whole, area shadows blur based on distance. If you can't spot the difference: try looking at the feet of the Femscout!
