As a result, the twins were not born the same year, with the first being delivered in November and the second last month, RTL reports. The first of the baby girls was born two months premature. While doctors expected that the second girl would follow that day, the woman's contractions suddenly stopped. Tests revealed two separate placentas, which doctors believe may have caused the rare phenomenon. Although born at full term, the second of the twins weighed in at only 1kg and appeared significantly smaller than her sister at birth. After one month under observation, the younger twin is putting on weight and will be able to go home soon.
