People have often asked me what some of the terminology I use actually means, so here's a quick lesson. Jibbing is a reference to manoeuvres made in a terrain park. This involves jumping, sliding on rails, stalling on features etc. An example of this is that riders can get their jib fix today because the crew from Frank MBP rebuilt the Skyline Terrain Park last night. Carving is used to describe high speed turns where speed is not reduced as you change direction. Carving is best done a firm freshly groomed surfaces, like the one we have on offer today. Whales are not sea dwelling mammals that find themselves stranded in ski resorts, they are in fact large mounds of manmade snow that have the appearance of a whales back as they pop up out of the water, or in this case as they appear out of the snow. There are many whales about the resort today because it was sub zero and we made loads of snow overnight. It's going to be a bright and sunny top of 4 degrees today so it's perfect to get out and shred. This does not involve the use of a cheese grater, it is a reference born from the shredding affect you have on the snow as you turn, brake and stop. So I'll see you when you're shredding. This is Chris Morecroft on top of the world, at Mt Buller.
