But the match was marred by a post match "scandal" as IFK supporters stormed the pitch. The match was held at Friends Arena in the Swedish capital on Sunday evening and drew a crowd of around 22,000. On a wet pitch it was 1-1 at the end of ordinary time after goals from IFK's Tobias Hysén and the home team's Daniel Amartey. Djurgården's Amadou Jawo, Luis Solignac and Peter Nymann all failed to score during the penalties allowing IFK's Pontus Farnerud to slot home the winning goal (4-2). Thousands of IFK supporters stormed the pitch moments after the victory was secured. They then antagonized Djurgården supporters and even launched a flare into the crowd. Riot police standing between the two supporter groups prevented them from clashing. "Scandal is the only word that can describe it," Martin Kurzwelly, IFK's club director, told local newspaper Göteborgs-Posten. "The scenes that took place when the pitch was invaded and what happened afterwards are completely unacceptable," said Djurgården's head of security to national newspaper Dagens Nyheter. The win gave IFK its first cup trophy since 2008 and they now move through to the qualifying stages of the UEFA Europa League.
