Ramsay was playing in the Soccer Aid 2012 match on Sunday at Manchester's Old Trafford stadium when he was barged by former Manchester United player Teddy Sheringham, the Manchester Evening News reports. Ramsay received an apology from Sheringham as he was being given medical attention before being stretchered off the field. "Gordon was taken to hospital after injuring his back during the game," a spokesperson for Ramsay said. "He was released after receiving treatment and although he's in pain today, there shouldn't be any long term damage." The match, organised by singer Robbie Williams and featuring Hollywood actors including Will Ferrell, Mike Myers, Gerard Butler, Woody Harrelson and Edward Norton along with UK actors, comedians and pop stars, raised more than $10 million for Unicef. Ferrell was also injured during the game. Ramsay's Wikipedia page was updated not long after the match to say he had been "killed" by Sheringham. But Ramsway tweeted the following day to say he was okay. "Thx 4 all the messages. Out of hospital after receiving amazing care from medics at ground & hospital. Bit sore but fine," he said.
