  • description: In a thrilling conclusion to Triple M Football's year-long Take A Million Dollar Mark competition -- Tim Robinson, a 28 year-old Victoria Police officer from Wyndham Vale became $10,000 richer by successfully marking a ball kicked to him by AFL legend Wayne Carey on the MCG. Tim chose one of one hundred Sherrin's before making his way onto the ground. Then, in front of the growing crowd, ahead of the Collingwood v West Coast Eagles clash, Tim stood nervously at the city end goals as Wayne Carey roosted the ball to him in the goal square from the 50m line. As the crowd watched on in anticipation, Carey lined up for the kick...and then shanked it to the right! Lining up for the second attempt, Carey booted a beauty straight to Tim who took it cleanly into his chest, to the roar of the Collingwood cheer squad behind him. An excited Robinson then couldn't resist a few fist pumps, and a high five with Carey, who ran over to congratulate him. Despite not selecting the million dollar ball, Tim managed to take home $10,000 for successfully marking the footy in the goal square. 'Ten grand, you beauty!', said Robinson, excited to be taking home the prize money after securing the grab. And with a bit of light rain around, Robinson revealed that he was 'a bit worried out there, it was swirling around a bit, but I was lucky enough to get on it.' Tim Robinson, a lifelong Western Bulldogs fan, received the news that he'd be out on the MCG just days ago from Hot Breakfast co-host and Bulldog champion Luke Darcy. Luke Darcy praised Robinson's effortless mark, saying, 'The King nearly missed it all together, which was a touch embarrassing, but Tim handled it beautifully'.
