Up until now, it’s been a character reserved for the occasional radio freestyle, “SNL” skit, or private cipher session. Now, Billboard has revealed that Chocolate Droppa has signed to Motown, with an album to be released “this coming fall.” Additional details about the album and first single are forthcoming. Kevin Hart has built the reputation of being everywhere at all times and that’s going to include your headphones, as Billboard is reporting that Motown has signed Hart’s rapping alter-ego Chocolate Droppa. An album is expected to drop this fall, with other details, like features, production credits or single name and schedule, yet to be revealed. Hart celebrated the news by posting to Twitter and Instagram, writing, “If you’re a rapper I suggest you run because I’m about to come for all of you sucka’s….Y’all just knocked on the door of a small giant that loves chicken nuggets and long walks in the park in the summer….which basically means that I will kill everybody!!!!” At first glance this comes off as somewhat of a publicity stunt, but with Hart’s rotating carousel of projects, it would be hard to say exactly what he’s doing promo for. The actor lends a voice to The Secret Life of Pets which hit theaters last month, and his latest comedy special What Now? is slated for a mid-October release. He likewise will be returning for Season 5 of Real Husbands Of Hollywood on Oct. 11.
