About the playing, I tried to be very accurate on the notes and chords, however, regarding the main riff of the song, I changed just a detail on it. Slash plays it using open strings (A and D strings). I play those notes on the E string (5th fret for A note) and A string (5th fret for D note). I changed this for my cover because I get a cleaner playing this way. Anyways, this is just for my cover. My tab is note by note accurate, shows Slash's exact way to play this song. For the intro I used my Fender CD60c electroacoustic guitar (mic'd with a Shure SM57). Then I used my 3 electric guitars: a Fender Stratocaster (rhythm guitar on the left), an Epiphone Les Paul Standard (rhythm guitar on the right) and a Gibson Les Paul Custom (lead guitar at the center of the mix). Both rhythm guitars feature a wah pedal at some point of the song, and the guitar solo is played using a wah too. For this I used my new Dunlop MXR MC404 CAE Crybaby (red inductor, no boost). For the electric guitars I used my usual recording way, I only added the wah to the chain: guitar --- wah pedal --- marshall ma50c amp --- shure sm57 mic in front of the amp's speaker --- m audio interface --- computer (Cubase records my sound). The amp settings usually dont sound the same on different amps, but if youre interested on knowing my amp settings, here they are: RHYTHM Guitars: OD channel (No boost) Crunch: 5 Gain: 10 Bass: 6 Middle: 10 Treble: 5 Volume: 5 Reverb: 0 Resonance: 6 Presence: 3 LEAD Guitar (Solo): OD channel (With boost) Gain: 4 Bass: 6 Middle: 10 Treble: 5 Volume: 5 Reverb: 0 Resonance: 6 Presence: 3
