Several of them are fond of money rather than religious beliefs. But this self-claimed godman is fond of fondling! A man has been arrested for allegedly presenting a mentally unstable man as a spiritual leader. He got a 30-year-old man dressed up as 'a baba' in saffron robes and told the people that the baba can cure people of serious ailments and exorcise evil spirits. But he was also taken into custody for allegedly misbehaving with some women who visited him. Around four-five days ago this baba started hugging and kissing women saying this will help them overcome their ailments. A complaint was filed by a Bajrang dal leader against the baba and Subba Reddy. Both were produced before a magistrate, who sent Reddy in judicial custody while asking the police to refer the other man to a psychiatrist for examination. The police are awaiting the psychiatrist's report. A case of cheating, molestation and 'inducing person to believe that he will be rendered an object of the divine displeasure' (section 508) has been filed under the Indian Penal Code.
