- description: it was time for the Free Speed day (Fri Fart)at Göta kanal. This year The Boat Sverige was there with both Roll Royce Merlin 1300 Hp Engines. it did a couple of driveby's maxin 58 knots (66mph). The idea to build the boat was born 1929, and it was planned to race against Garfield Woods båt Miss America VIII Speed record. But the Wall Street Crash came in the way. And the Project was forgotten but a couple of years ago the Blueprints where found and the boat was built . The plan now is to go faster than the Miss America VIII Speed record, But not in Göta Channel ;-) 58 knop (66mph) was fast enough today... .
