The newly formed Donbass Battalion which pledges loyalty to Kiev, had earlier announced its intention to lay siege to Lugansk and Slavyansk. But on Friday morning their advance East faced a serious setback when pro Donetsk militia the "Vostok Battalion" engaged in heavy fighting with them in the village of Karlovka, setting up a checkpoint nearby. There are still no figures on the dead and injured, but several dead bodies of fighters from the Vostok battalion were laid into a truck at the checkpoint.
