JOHN'S, NL) August 22, 2013 - The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) General Investigation Unit is requesting the assistance of the general public in identifying the persons responsible for an armed robbery that occurred on Topsail Road in Mount Pearl, NL. On Monday, August 12, 2013 at approximately 10:15 pm, RNC officers from Patrol Services, Police Dog Services, Criminal Investigation Division and Forensic Identification Services responded to an armed robbery at Needs Convenience on Topsail Road. The male suspects, both brandishing knives, entered the store and demanded cash and cigarettes before fleeing the scene with an undisclosed amount. There were no injuries sustained during the commission of the offence. The incident is still under investigation. The first male suspect is described as middle eastern, approximately 5'9" tall, 160 lbs with a pointy chin, pronounced cheek bones. He is also described as having dark hair and thick eyebrows. At the time of the incident he was described as wearing a grey hoodie with beige fur on the hood, blue jeans and sunglasses on his head. The second male is described as approximately 5'9" and 160lbs. At the time of the offence the suspect was wearing a blue hoodie, baseball cap on backwards and jeans. The RNC General Investigation Unit is continuing to investigate this armed robbery and is seeking the assistance of the general public in identifying the individuals responsible.
