The film, which will chronicle the journey of the charismatic cartoonist-turned-firebrand politician, will see actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui in the lead role. The first promotional posters of the upcoming biopic were also unveiled by Uddhav Thackeray amidst a thunderous applause. Directed by Abhijit Panse, the film is scheduled to release on January 23, 2019, the 93rd birth anniversary of Thackeray. मुंबई : शिवसेनाप्रमुख बाळासाहेब ठाकरे यांच्या आयुष्यावरील सिनेमाची घोषणा बॉलिवूडचे शहेनशहा अर्थात बिग बी अमिताभ बच्चन आणि शिवसेना पक्षप्रमुख उद्धव ठाकरे यांच्या उपस्थितीत करण्यात आली आहे. बाळासाहेब ठाकरेंच्या आयुष्यावर आधारित हा सिनेमा हिंदी आणि मराठी भाषेत असणार आहे. या सिनेमात अष्टपैलू अभिनेता नवाझुद्दीन सिद्दीकी बाळासाहेब ठाकरेंच्या भूमिकेत दिसणार असून 'ठाकरे' असं या बायोपिकचं नाव असणार आहे. शिवसेना नेते संजय राऊत सिनेमाची निर्मिती करणार आहेत. पण आश्चर्याची बाब म्हणजे या सिनेमाच्या दिग्दर्शनाची जबाबदारी मनसेचे नेते अभिजीत पानसे यांच्या खांद्यावर सोपवण्यात आली आहे.
