- description: Detectives have released CCTV footage showing the movements of 18-year-old Kieran moments before he was attacked. Shortly after 2.20pm on Wednesday 16 January 2013, police were called to Upper Chorlton Road in Whalley Range following reports of a man being assaulted. Officers attended and discovered 18-year-old Kieran Crump Raiswell with stab wounds. He was taken to hospital and sadly died from his injuries. Kieran was walking along Upper Chorlton Road towards Manchester city centre on Wednesday afternoon. He was wearing an electric blue hooded bubble jacket, dark blue jeans and Nike blue trainers. He was also carrying a black rucksack with a multi coloured Aztec print and was wearing head phones. His attacker was seen at the junction of Stamford Road and Upper Chorlton Road, possibly hiding in some bushes. As Kieran crossed over Stamford Road his attacker walked up behind him, stabbed him and ran off. Kieran's attacker is described as a light skinned male, slim build, between 5ft 1in and 5ft 4in tall, he is young in appearance, possibly aged 16 or 17. He has a short back and sides haircut and was wearing blue jeans and a black v neck jumper with the Versace sign printed on the front and back in red. Detective Chief Inspector Peter Marsh from GMP's Major Incident Team, said: "We have a dedicated team of detectives working to build up a picture of what happened, but at this stage in the investigation there appears to be no obvious motive for killing Kieran, who was simply walking along the street. "There has been lots of speculation and rumour in the community and by the media about the motives behind Kieran's murder. There is no evidence to suggest that Kieran was a victim of a robbery or an attempt robbery. "I want to hear from you if you saw Kieran walking along Upper Chorlton Road on Wednesday afternoon. Did you see him speak to or have any kind of interaction with someone matching the offender's description? "I believe the answers to who did this will lie in the community. Someone will know who was responsible and I implore those people to be courageous and come forward. "If it was your brother, son or friend who was killed in this way you would want justice for them. "However insignificant you think your information may be, it could actually be vital to our investigation." A post mortem examination has concluded that Kieran died from a stab wound to the chest. Anyone with information is asked to call police on 0161 856 4711 or contact the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
