David Beckham shows he hasn't lost any of his skills after catching a stray shot during Jamie Murray's doubles match David Beckham was at Centre Court today with his mother Sandra when the ball came flying towards the Royal Box It had bounced off a line judge's chair and he was able to grab it and throw it back - sparking a round of applause He smiled and raised his arm to acknowledge the cheers as Jamie Murray's doubles match got back under way Murray won with Australian partner John Peers today and became first Briton to get through to a Wimbledon final David Beckham was back at Wimbledon today where he showed he hasn't lost his ball skills after catching a stray shot during Jamie Murray's doubles match. The former England footballer sparked a round of applause from the crowd after the tennis ball bounced off a line judge's chair and into the Royal Box where he managed to grab it. The 40-year-old smiled and raised his arm to acknowledge the cheers before throwing it back into Centre Court from his prime seat, beside his mother Sandra, during their day at the All England Club. Jamie went on to win the men's doubles semi-final with Australian partner John Peers today - making him the first Briton into a Wimbledon final at this year's championships. The packed courtside crowd cheered after they won the match in four sets against German Philipp Petzschner and Israel's Jonathan Erlich, while Jamie's mother Judy looked emotional in the players' box. Earlier in the day, Beckham and his mother watched the semi final match between Garbine Muguruza of Spain and Poland's Agnieszka Radwanska, where they were joined by the England Women's football team. The father-of-four wore a dark suit as he was surrounded by the sportswomen - who finished third in the recent World Cup - as they proceeded to take selfies with him. The group of talented footballers also took a selfie with Prince William this morning when they visited Kensington Palace as a reward for their recent World Cup efforts. He also posed for an individual photograph with midfielder Jill Scott, who swiftly uploaded the photo to Instagram with the caption: 'OK my life is complete #Legend.' Beckham has been sending the girls plenty of support during their World Cup efforts via his social media accounts, and was delighted when the team sent him a mini kit for his daughter Harper before they left for the tournament. Earlier in the day the England team, who took home bronze models marking the best ever result for an England senior football team abroad, joined Prince William for breakfast at his London home as a reward for their athletic efforts. The smartly dressed 33-year-old chatted enthusiastically to the women, who beat Germany 1-0 in the World Cup third place play-off, and their head coach, Mark Sampson. William, who is president of the Football Association, chatted with the women, who returned to the UK last week. David and his mother Sandra were joined in the Royal Box by a host of familiar faces today, including Pippa Middleton, who also made it a family outing by enjoying the match with brother James. The Middleton siblings also had a chance to chat to the football star and the younger sister of the Duchess of Cambridge looking delighted as she engaged in conversation with the footballer. David has long been a friend of the Royal family, and is especially close to Prince William. He also attended the Royal Wedding in 2011 along with wife Victoria Beckham. Speaker of the House of Commons, John Bercow was also in the premium seating area today and turned round to congratulate David after he caught the tennis ball mid-game this afternoon. David is a regular at Wimbledon, and attended matches last year with his wife before treating his middle son Romeo, 12, to a day courtside on Wednesday. The pair watched Andy Murray face off against Vasek Pospisil, with the doting dad snapping photos of his Burberry model son as they enjoyed the match. Family man David is particularly close to his mother and her husband David, who joined the couple in Morrocco for Victoria's 40th celebrations, organised by their son, earlier this year. The former footballer paid tribute to his family on his birthday in a touching Instagram post, writing: 'I have a lot to thank these people for. Couldn't have done it without them.' David also played the doting brother this week when he joined his sister Joanne at the launch of her new company We Are Your City on Wednesday evening.
