  • description: ► Yanaka Ginza street is located 5 minutes walk from Nippori Station. It offers a fun mix of traditional, quirky little shops, and marketstreet shopping & food stalls. Many of the houses in this area survived the bombings during the war, which doesn't make it any less interesting taking a stroll there. Unlike the more famous Ameyoko Market in Ueno (which is packed with thousands of tourists every day) Yanaka Ginza Street is much more quiet, but also much more charming and "genuine" Japanese. This is where you'll see elderly gentlemen meet for a cup of sake on the streetcorner, housewifes buying vegetables or fresh chicken for tonights dinner, not to mention it's a great place to find rare or handmade items. A really interesting place to spend a half day if you happen to be visiting Tokyo. Easy access by by Keihin Tohoku Line, Yamanote Line, Keisei Line or Nippori Toneri Liner. - Enjoy! PS. As usual, here's a "reward" in shape of another bonus-video for viewers who actually cares to read the descriptions. This time a video I shot in the early spring of "Akabane Station Area" (a smalltown on the Saikyu Line, halfway to Saitama) : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AKaAtvDf8rQ
