Vystudovaná ekonomka prošla řadou zaměstnání -- pracovala jako účetní, vedoucí hospodářské správy, podnikatelka, vedoucí finančního odboru a tajemnice městského úřadu, ekonomka soukromé střední školy. Po přestěhování do Obrnic se nezalekla a vede je již sedmým rokem. Recept na soužití většinové společnosti s Romy tam jezdí hledat i ministři. -- [ENGLISH] Drahomíra Miklošová - To build or to destroy, to divide or to connect? Drahomíra Miklošová is the mayoress of Obrnice, a village of only 2,500 inhabitants, 40% of which are Roma. Unlike the problematic region of Šluknovsko, Obrnice is a rather peaceful little town with low crime rates. Originally an economics graduate, Drahomíra has been through a wide range of jobs, having worked as an accountant, entrepreneur, financial manager, city secretary as well as an economist at a private high school. Moving to Obrnice did not frighten her in the least and she has now been serving as the head of its government for seven years. Her secret to the peaceful coexistence of the different cultures has long been a point of interest for many -- including Czech government members. -- About TEDx, x = independently organized event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience.
