- description: As cases of coronavirus in the UK increase again, is the NHS prepared to deal with the outbreak – just as it comes through its winter crisis? Subscribe to our channel here: https://goo.gl/31Q53F Prime Minister Boris Johnson has said a “very significant expansion” of coronavirus cases in the UK is "clearly on the cards". Four more cases of the virus pushed the UK’s total to 40 as the government prepares to publish its plan to stop the spread of the disease. But the Royal College of Emergency Medicine has released new figures revealing that more than 100,000 patients have waited for longer than 12 hours for treatment at A&E since the start of the winter. Senior medics are calling for increased funding and extra beds to cope with overcrowding. Will the NHS be able to enact the government’s plan? UK correspondent Deborah Cohen reports, and Mark Urban is joined by President of the Royal College of Emergency Medicine, Dr Katherine Henderson and Shadow Health Secretary Jon Ashworth.
