- description: Shortly before 8:00 on the morning of Sunday, April 3, 2016, emergency crews were called to Cabot Tower on Signal Hill. The St. John's Regional Fire Department's high angle rescue team, along with paramedics from Eastern Health and the RNC attended the scene, where a vehicle had gone over the edge at the top of Signal Hill, near Cabot Tower. Unconfirmed at the time of this posting (11:30 am), a single person was taken to hospital with unknown injuries. It is unclear whether the person was removed from the vehicle by emergency crews or if they were found nearby. Signal Hill Rd, as well as the North Head Trail pathway, which is directly below where the car is lodged) remain closed at this time.
