"Les Miserables," "Lincoln," "Argo"? "Silver Linings Playbook"? And which television programs will be honored? The annual favorites like "Breaking Bad" or "Mad Men"? Or newcomer "Homeland," which took home many Emmys last September. Perhaps U.K. import "Downton Abbey" will sneak in there. 7:57 -- Who's excited about Tina Fey and Amy Poehler hosting? We have high hopes for two of the funniest ladies in entertainment. 8:00 -- Fey and Poehler look outstanding in their gowns. Love the colors. 8:01 -- Nominee for best line: "Only at the Golden Globes do the beautiful people of film rub shoulders with the rat-faced people of television." -- Amy Poehler 8:02 -- "We have no intention of being edgy or offensive tonight because as Ricky Gervais fond out the hard way, when you run afoul of the Hollywood Foreign Press, they make you host this show two more times." -- Poehler. Heh. 8:04 -- The ladies, they are killing it. "I haven't really been following the controversy over 'Zero Dark Thirty,' but when it comes to torture, I trust the lady who spent three years married to James Cameron." -- Amy Poehler. Though so far, Poehler is getting all the good lines. 8:05 -- Tina gets a good one in, to Anne Hathaway about "Les Miz": "I have not seen someone so totally alone and abandoned like that since you were on stage with James Franco at the Oscars." 8:07 -- "Meryl Streep is not here tonight. She has the flu. And I hear she's AMAZING in it." -- Amy Poehler 8:10 -- Christoph Waltz wins Best Supporting Actor in a Film for his work in "Django Unchained." This award at the Critics' Choice went to Philip Seymour Hoffman from "The Master," so perhaps the Oscar is still up for grabs. 8:12 -- The Best Supporting Actress for a TV Series or Movie goes to Maggie Smith for "Downton Abbey," so that's two Emmys and a Golden Globe for her for the U.K. hit show. She did not win a Golden Globe last year for the role -- that one went to Jessica Lange for "American Horror Story." 8:17 -- Hi to Sam Fox and Francesca Eastwood, Mr. and Miss Golden Globe. Raise your hand if you had no idea Clint Eastwood had a kid with Frances Fisher? *raises hand* 8:18 -- Best Miniseries or TV Movie goes to "Game Change." It never fails to crack us up to see Danny Strong on stage at an awards show. It's the episode of "Buffy" called "Superstar" come to life! 8:20 -- Best Actress in a TV Miniseries or Movie goes to Julianne Moore for "Game Change." She also won the Emmy for the role. And in case you were wondering who that sixth nominee was with the crazy teeth, that was Amy Poehler in a gag: "As a psychic who solves her own murder, Darcy St. Fudge, 'Dog President'" (pictured, right). 8:23 -- An early frontrunner for the Most Awkward Presentation was when Catherine Zeta-Jones had to sing a line from "Les Miz," then just stop. Super weird, even if CZJ can sing. 8:31 -- "The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel" gets its video package. That looked great, but we didn't see it. Did you? 8:32 -- Best Actor TV Series Drama goes to Damian Lewis, "Homeland." He won the Emmy for the role back in September. He lost this category a year ago at the Golden Globes to Kelsey Grammer for "Boss." 8:34 -- Best TV Series Drama goes to "Homeland." Not a huge upset, it did win the Emmy in September and the Golden Globe a year ago. However, those awards were for Season 1 and this one is for Season 2, which was pretty controversial. Many thought there was a drop in the show's quality. Did you agree? 8:42 -- Real-life CIA agent Tony Mendez is there to help introduce "Argo's" video package, that's awesome. That's the character Ben Affleck played in the film. He's a little stiff, but he's probably super nervous. It's OK, fella. 8:44 -- Jennifer Lopez appears to have shown up wearing nothing but sticky lace, while her co-presenter Jason Statham looks like a waiter. They award Best Original Score to Michael Danner for "Life of Pi." John Williams just misses out on winning his 100th award for music. (Not really.) 8:49 -- Best Original Song goes to "Skyfall" by Adele. Does this mean she's a shoo-in for the Oscar? She'll be halfway to her EGOT if she wins the Oscar. Adele is predictably adorable in her acceptance speech -- "We've been pissing ourselves laughing all night." Heh. 8:55 -- Tina Fey sneaks into the Best Actor in a TV Movie or Miniseries as "a professional volleyball player battling restless leg syndrome, Damian Francisco in 'Dog President'" (pictured, left). Boy, this "Dog President" TV Movie sounds awesome. Kevin Costner wins, by the way. 8:58 -- President Bill Clinton is there to introduce the video package "Lincoln." Wow, talk about a show out-kicking its coverage. As Amy Poehler says, "Wow! That was Hillary Clinton's husband!" Follow Zap2it on T
