- description: Officers from the Province of Manitoba's Conservation and Water Stewardship Department and City of Thompson's Animal Care and Control Program worked together Feb. 28 to successfully restrain and free this lynx caught in a fence in a yard on Riverside Drive with his front left leg caught in a soft legal trap. The trap was removed, the lynx examined and found to be essentially uninjured, and was transported to a bush area to to be released back into the wild. He had been spotted in the city on the Millennium Trail at least as early as Feb. 25 with the trap on his leg.
