- description: Visits from a Blue Heron in our backyard. For about a week this Blue Heron kept hanging around our home and our neighbors' homes, so I decided to take some pictures. We couldn't figure out why it kept coming back, then on June 26, 2014 he was right behind our house, so I decided to video tape him. When you see this video you will see why he's been hanging around. I have checked and confirmed that the Blue Heron caught a "gopher" and not a "mole". They are very different especially if you look at them close up. One can go to search photos of gophers and moles, and they are clearly different, and the Blue Heron caught a gopher in this video.
