- description: This October the 23rd, 2006 was the 50th anniversary of the 1956 failed Hungarian revolt against communism. This video was taken at a public protest against the current government near Deak Ferenc tere. It started off like the riots in September, but here, protestors commandeered an old soviet tank that was on display at an open-air museum for the 50th anniversary and drove it at police. The clouds of smoke you see are a mix of the tank's exhaust and tear gas (not fun). It was truly a surreal experience.
