- description: I have disabled the comments because anything ye want or need to know is in the description below (: So I guess this a kind of update on Mario. As you can see his cough isn't good AT ALL! He has been coughing his guts up for the past 3 weeks and no medication was getting rid of the problem. We finally had enough of it this morning! After thinking he was on the road to recovery over the weekend, we awoke to Mario's roaring cough, and that was it! The vet had to come and check him out. The vet's receptionist (who prescribed the medication) said that calling the vet to visit should be our last resort and sadly we had to. The vet came and calmed me and my mam's nerves a bit, he checked his temperature, which he said was high, so a fever is one of the problems he has, he checked his breathing and he is still heaving, which is another obvious problem. He checked his eyes, and thankfully there was no sign of discoloration or anything out of the ordinary. His nose has finally cleared up, which we took as a good sign. The vet gave him multiple injections and took a sample of his faeces (shite) and is sending it off to be tested for any worms (He was wormed at the start of last month, as usual.), he thinks he could have lung worms, which are treatable. If not we're hoping it's just a virus from the ever changing weather. He also took his blood to be tested and we should have results back in the coming days. He doesn't think Mario has suffered any allergic reaction since we haven't changed anything in his every day surroundings like changing his feed or changing from shavings to straw. We told him that when we were worming him last month they didn't have our usual brand of wormer, which is a caramel flavoured one, so we had to use a different brand. He doesn't know if that could have caused anything yet. But I guess only time will tell what is going to happen to Mar. Thanks to everyone who has wrote to me and wished Mario good luck over the past few weeks, ye are just brilliant. And all of your letters have just made me smile so much, I can't thank ye enough! I promise the 10,000 video will be made as soon as Mario improves, we are going to wait until June to put him out, maybe the 1st, just before his 10th birthday on the 3rd. I own him 5 years in July (4th) and this is the 2nd ever problem we've had with him, his first was a cancerous tumor which we removed in 2010. -Ellen&Mario.
