With a 2nd in moto 1, Nogueras wanted to challenge Covington early but a nasty slick spot on the treacherous course sent the Dominican native off the bike violently. Amazingly, Nogueras got back up and came through the pack to finish 2nd not too far behind a cruising Covington.
