- description: Richard Hooton of The Visit Nenagh-Team DMG has taken his first seasonal win in 2013 claiming victory over Mick Fitzgerald (Fermoy CC) and Mike Storan (Planet Tri), who took 2nd and 3rd place on Sunday. After having missed the An Post Rás a few weeks ago due to studies, Hooton proved that his fitness and determination are as strong as they every were. With the Irish National Championship on the horizon, due in late June, Hooton holds promise and can look forward with an appetite for success. A fast pace was set straight away when Rich Hooton, Tim Barry (Aquablue), and four other strong riders pulled away from the start of the race. This pace continued over the course of the day and many attempts were made to swallow up the breakaway but in the end Hooton claimed his conquest for a win. Dara Bailey of Donamon Dynamos, a first year junior won the A3 race beating out Shane Power of Dungarvan CC (2nd) and Stephen Shanahan of Limerick CC (3rd). Cathal O' Donovan of Blarney CC, won the A4 category race, winning for the second week in a row and is turning heads with his efforts, Michael Martin of Coachford took 2nd place and Eoin O' Connell of Blarney CC took 3rd. Fiona Guihan took her first ever victory in this year's Rás Clár with Emma Walsh and Monica Marconi claiming 2nd and 3rd.
