He kept hitting the shoulder and straddling the centre line. I was starting to wonder if maybe he was impaired. I had contemplated calling the police and it was at this point that the driver left the roadway, entered the ditch and launched himself through the intersection, ultimately hitting the traffic light. The intersection is at McNeely and Stonewater in Carleton Place, Ontario. I pulled over, got out of the car and called 911. The driver was transported to hospital with head injuries. I exchanged information with the investigating officer and have provided them this footage.
