The Committee was responsible to prepare a list of 27 candidates who will compete for the post of Commissioner in the Independent Election Commission (IEC). The Selection Committee said that President Karzai will now choose nine candidates from the list and appoint them as Commissioners. Officials of the Afghan Ministry of Interior (MoI) on Sunday said that the list of polling booths for which the Afghan Security Forces would be providing security, is scheduled to be sent to the Independent Election Commission (IEC) by Monday. According the prepared list, the Security Forces would be able to provide security for 7,000 polling centers across the country.
