On Tuesday night, a Sarasota Open match between Frances Tiafoe and Mitchell Krueger had brief stoppages in play due to loud sex noises. It was such an unusual moment that the broadcaster initially thought it was someone's phone—but that did not turn out to be the case. Apparently, there was a couple in a nearby apartment that decided there was a better way to spend a night than watching tennis. The commentary, by the broadcaster and a player, throughout the bizarre occurrence makes for incredible entertainment in an awkward situation. ................................................................................................................. A Sarasota Open match between Frances Tiafoe and Mitchell Krueger was interrupted multiple times on Tuesday night due to a couple in a nearby house having very loud sex. At first, announcer Mike Cation assumed the racket was coming from a spectator’s cell phone. “Well, that is the most bizarre situation. I don’t know how to put this, folks, but somebody’s phone going off in the stands,” he said on the live stream. “And it was an adult video.” But a few moments later, around the 1:50 mark in the above video, the noises got even later. That’s when Cation, and everyone else on hand, realized what was really happening. “I still hear it. It’s still going! What is going on!” he exclaimed as nervous laughter spread throughout the crowd. “Nope, that is not a phone. That’s an apartment across the lake.” The announcer clarified himself after the match on Twitter, saying “Much love to the couple with the windows open across the way! Sounds like you guys had a good time!” To their credit, Tiafor and Krueger did not seem fazed by the extra-curricular activities the neighbors were partaking in. Krueger joking hit a tennis ball in the direction of the sex noises at one point and when the volume hit an embarrassingly high level, Tiafor, 19, yelled: “It can’t be that good!” Tiafoe won the match, 6-3, 6-2, but, clearly, there were two other people nearby who won the night.
