- description: Twenty-two year- old Moreno De Pauw, riding for the Belgium National Team, has won Stage Five of The Rás. De Pauw completed the 150- kilometre stage from Glengarrif to Mitchelstown in 3 hours 36 minutes 25 seconds. An early attack by Michael Northey of Britain Node4 Girodana Racing and Seán Archbold, riding for An Post Chainreaction Seán Kelly, was caught by Alexander Schrangl (Austria ARBO Gebruder Weiss) and Thomas Lavery (Waterford Comeragh), before all four were reeled back in by the bunch. With just a few kilometres to go, the trio of Connor McConvey, riding for Azerbaijan Synergy Baku, Rasmus Guldhammer of Denmark Blue Water Cycling, and De Pauw made a break, with De Pauw edging the other two on the line. Marcin Bialoblocki of Britain UK Youth Pro Cycling retains the race leader's yellow jersey and will wear it for a third day on Stage Six. He finished safely in the chasing group and leads general classification from McConvey in second and Guldhammer in third, with all three on the same time. Mehall Fitgerald of Tipperary visitnenagh.ie leads the county rider standings with no changes in the other minor jerseys -- Mike Cuming (Rapha Contador JLT) leads the mountains standings with Owain Doull and Simon Yates, both riding for the Great Britain National Team, retaining the Green and White Jerseys respectively. Stage Six takes the peloton almost 155 kilometres from Mitchelstown to Carlow.
