The Law on President's Salary and Expenses was approved with amendments in four chapters and 19 articles. The changes were made in the articles 7 and 17 of this Law that talked about increasing or decreasing the salary of the President, which must be done according to the Pay and Rank Law. In case, the salary of the President is increased then it must be paid from the Council of Minister's budget and not from the Codes 90 and 91 (Reserve money kept for emergency purpose). Afghan security officials on Monday confirmed that at least 40 Taliban insurgents and an Afghan soldier were killed in a massive Afghan security forces' clearing operation in northern Parwan province. Officials further added that 30 Taliban insurgents were injured in the operation.
