Following that encounter, it was Davies who was being accused of "mauling" Giangreco, but this time it was he who set out to disturb the punters, many of whom were sufficiently creeped out when the presenter wrapped his hand around his co-anchor's neck and licked her face from chin to temple. Davies appeared somewhat perturbed by the incident, which was no doubt a highlight of coverage some viewers found a touch lacklustre. Either way, there's no doubt that live TV remains an unpredictable beast – and that goes for the hosts too.
