It may sound obvious, but for this family it was nearly a costly mistake. And all because the intelligent bear figured out how to open the door with its paws. In a rather comical, albeit frightening, video, the large American black bear gives the family of four a nasty scare. At the start of the footage the father decides to stop and take pictures of the beast, DSLR at the ready. 'Oh god the bear's right next to us,' forewarns one of his children. Family left screaming in terror when huge bear slams open their car door Exploring the wilderness always opens you up to a certain level of danger. But this family believed they were safe and sound inside their car. Driving through the woods, they stop as they come near a big brown bear. But no-one in the car could have predicted what was about to happen next. Incredibly the bear rises up on its hind legs and pulls the front door open. Thankfully it is not feeling overly peckish and the dad is able to wrestle back control. The bear's right next to us," a boy's voice can be heard saying, while the father takes photos from the passenger seat. The family's fascination quickly turns to screaming as the bear reaches out and opens the car door. "Stop screaming," the annoyed mother can be heard saying as she drives away from the attempted stowaway. All the while the children scream 'Oh my goodness' as it looks as though a new passenger is about to join them. The mother shouts 'hey stop screaming', seemingly unconcerned that the bear had got so close to her children. The footage was posted to LiveLeak over the weekend and it is unclear exactly where the close encounter took place. Fortunately for viewers of the video the publisher modified the volume to lower the sounds of the yelling kids. While driving through Yellowstone National Park, this family encountered a bear on the side of the road, so they stopped to say hello and snap some pictures. The bear then got a bit too friendly and opened up the passenger side door, causing the kids in the backseat to scream their heads off until the door was securely closed again.
