- description: 2 weeks before the start of our second century, much of Southern Alberta was ravaged by floods. This video celebrates a city that would not let its community spirit be washed away. Thank you to the first responders and all of the volunteers that pitched in to clean up and start the restoration of flooded homes and communities. Thank you to the Stampede Volunteers that staffed City Reception Centres. Who served breakfasts to the military in Canmore, flooded communities in the city and to our First Nations friends at Siksika. Thank you to those that have bought the "Stampede 101 Hell or High Water" t-shirts, and helped raise over $1 million for the Alberta Red Cross Flood Relief effort. Thank you to our tourism partners for ensuring that the word is out that Calgary is a great place to visit and open for business. Thank you to our sponsors who have offered us everything from encouragement to space to services and counsel. Thank you to all of you who have worked so hard to rebuild and restore Calgary's gathering place, and to get us ready to welcome the world for Stampede 101. Our second century begins today.
