The child, suffering from Werdnig-Hoffmann disease, a rare form of spinal muscular atrophy, left the hospital accompanied by his mother Victoria and his doctor. The ambulance car is expected to deliver the baby to Russia, but it remains unknown how much time it will take because of the numerous checkpoints along the route. Because of his diagnosis, Yevgeny can't move and breathe normally, and his respiratory system needs constant artificial support.
