JOHN'S, NL), July 11, 2013 -- The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) General Investigation Unit is requesting the assistance of the general public in identifying the person responsible for an armed robbery at a food establishment on Torbay Road in St. John's, NL. On Sunday, June 30, 2013, at approximately 12:10 am, RNC officers from Patrol Services and Forensic Identification Section responded to an armed robbery at Mr. Sub located on Torbay Road. The male suspect armed with a knife entered the store and demanded cash before fleeing the scene with an undisclosed amount. The suspect was seen getting into a vehicle that was parked on the side of the building. It is believed a blond female was sitting in the waiting vehicle. The vehicle then exited out of the parking lot and proceeded west on Newfoundland Drive. There were no injuries sustained during the commission of the offence. The male suspect is described as being in his early twenties, approximately 6'0" with a slender build. At the time of the incident he was wearing a black hoodie, blue jeans and white sneakers. The vehicle in question is described as an older model, two door, Honda Civic black in colour. The RNC General Investigation Unit is continuing to investigate and is seeking the assistance of the general public and anyone that may have information in relation to this crime is asked to contact the RNC at 729-8000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
