Airport officials discovered almost 26 pounds of cocaine, hidden inside food packages in their luggage. [Melissa Reid, British Citizen]: "I was forced to take these bags in my luggage." [Police Questioner]: "You know it contained drugs?" [Melissa Reid, British Citizen]: "I did not know that." Carrying an estimated two-point-three million dollars worth of cocaine, Peruvian authorities believe the girls may have been working as drug couriers from South America to Europe. The suspects are currently being held in a Lima prison and if guilty, could receive up to 25 years in prison. Peru ranks among Colombia and Bolivia as one of the world's largest producers of cocaine.
