- description: This is the aftermath of an armed takedown by the South Eastern Garda Regional Support Unit (RSU) in Carrick-on-Suir, County Tipperary, Ireland. Early morning violence took place on the streets of Carrick on Suir on Friday, 31st May 2013 after two drug gangs clashed over their illicit dealings. The criminal gangs - one from Tipperary Town and the other from Clonmel - had met in the town to do business, unaware of the presence of surveillance officers from the Garda National Drugs Unit. When a row broke out over payment between the drug thugs, nearby armed Detectives called for assistance from the Armed Support Unit based in the South East, who had a team on patrol in the area and took just 2 minutes to arrive on scene. 8 people were arrested throughout the day in connection with the drug feuding. 3 arrests were made near Sean Kelly Square in the town (seen in this video), while a further 5 criminals were detained in Clonmel, South Tipperary. All eight - 7 men and 1 woman - were charged, and brought before a sitting of Carrick-on-Suir District Court on Saturday, 1st June 2013. Those charged were bailed under certain conditions, and were due back in court in July 2013. Additional charges relating to drug dealings were pending. Names of those charged; Chris Doran, Bernard Cawley, Michael Sweeney (Senior), Michael Sweeney (Junior), John Paul McCarthy, Thomas McCarthy, Lee Ahern, Addey Ahern. __ Every effort has been made to protect the identity of the Gardai in this video.
