- description: Just to give you an idea how big an average size grid transformer looks like in comparison to a 1 kVA MOT. This is a single phase 220,000 to 33,000 Volts 66.6 MVA transformer. Normally these transformers work in a bank of three to make a 200 MVA transformer bank. The tiny transformer at the beginning is 240 to 12 Volts 10 VA. The MOT is 240 to 2200 Volts at about 0.8 to 1 kVA More detailed footage will follow of the big transformer, on an other video.
