- description: Latest information at the webpage http://www.westernpacificweather.com/ Typhoon Haiyan or Yolanda has made landfall along Southern Samar and then a second landfall on Leyte as a record breaking Typhoon with winds on a 1 minute wind scale via JTWC at 314kph. That is stronger than the max winds in Typhoon Tip and the equivalant of the winds typically found in a EF3 to EF4 Tornado. The difference is the wind around the eye wall of this monster is about 100kph wide. Damage and power outages are already being reported from James Reynolds who is now in the eye wall of this serious and dangerous storm. You can follow him on Twitter Below. @ TyphoonFury
