- description: For the first time on December 15, 2014, Made In Space designed, tested, qualified and 3D printed a tool on-demand aboard the International Space Station in less than a week. Tools that are manufactured on the space station in this way are called "uplink tools" due to the fact that they are ultimately delivered to the space station via a radio uplink as opposed to a launch vehicle. This ratchet was designed as one print with moveable parts and without any support material by Made In Space engineer Noah Paul-Gin. After receiving several requests to show a working demo of the ratchet, we filmed this short video. Enjoy! Music: "Far Away" by MK2
