- description: Tensions in Tia Sharp's family have boiled over as the search for the missing schoolgirl enters its seventh day. Christine Sharp and a friend swore at hordes of cameramen and reporters who crowded around her as she got into a car parked near her home. She almost reversed into a TV camera in the packed street before speeding-off with a blast of her horn and us in pursuit. Thirty yards on, she found her escape blocked by a rubbish truck collecting refuse that had just been searched by police. One of the search officers stepped in to prevent journalists from speaking to her. Christine Sharp Christine Sharp's car surrounded by reporters and photographers For five days now we have been camped out on her doorstep, covering the search for her 12-year-old granddaughter and waiting for any comment from the various family members who have gathered here. Each time one of them has emerged from the small terraced house they have been pressed for a comment, but they have rarely spoken. They have appointed Tia's uncle David to speak for them, but we are keen to hear from any of them. At times the exchanges have got heated, but Tia's family have acknowledged that they need to keep publicity flowing to encourage witnesses to contact police. It cannot be easy to appear polite and accommodating when you are consumed with a mixture of fear and hope, and when your every step outside the sanctuary of your front door is filmed and recorded. Tia Sharp has been missing since last Friday Of course, we all want Tia to be found safe and well and we are part of the effort to achieve that. I have got used to being treated by people like something they have trodden in. Though it is rarely justified - and certainly is not happening here -- at times it has got close. We have a job to do, but sometimes I think we could do it with a little more thought and a bit less intrusion. For two days this week our cameras and tripods managed to completely block the path that leads to the house. It meant family members and their neighbours had almost to brush past us to get through. When would push turn to shove? Thankfully, we have now moved back a couple of yards. I have never known a doorstep where we could not have moved back a bit more, and I have known a few.
