- description: ► Here's a look at the Hiroshima Dentetsu ("Hiroden" in short), owned and operated by Hiroshima Electric Railways. It consists of 7 different lines, which all travels through the most important areas of Hiroshima City; Hiroshima Station, Yokogawa area, Port of Hiroshima, Hondori area and Miyajimaguchi. They travel at snailpace, but they are quite charming, and on boiling hot days it's a good alternative, and a new tram comes every minute, so it's perfect to hop on and off when exploring the city. What impressed me most about the history of this tram is, after the U.S dropped the atomic bomb on Hiroshima, it only took the Japanese 2 weeks to re-open the first line - mighty impressive, even by todays standards. - Have a look and enjoy the ride!
