- description: Saudi Civil Defence authorities report at least 220 people have been killed and some 400 injured in a stampede outside Islam's holiest city, Mecca. The incident occurred during the Eid al-Adha (or Feast of Sacrifice) holiday. Around three million Muslims are believed to be taking part in the Haj pilgrimage, ending at Mecca.
