- description: MORE than 60 people have reportedly died following a plane crash in southern Russia. Local emergency services are reporting that all 62 people on board the flydubai plane have perished after the Boeing 737-800 went down close to the southern city of Rostov-on-Don, near the Ukraine border, early on Saturday morning. Flydubai flight FZ981 had travelled from Dubai to Rostov-on-Don with 55 passengers and six crew members aboard, the Associated Press is reporting a regional emergency ministry statement as saying. It’s thought all the passengers on board were Russian while the crew consisted of nationals from other countries. Russian news station RT is reporting the flight crashed as it attempted a second landing at the city’s airport. “According to preliminary data, the Boeing 738 crashed in poor visibility conditions, some 50-100 metres left of the runway,” a source is reported to have told Russian news agency Interfax. Dramatic CCTV footage of what is thought to be the crash has emerged. From a nearby building it shows a plane descending over a road before crashing, a fireball engulfing the scene.
